Where has the Staples Center been?

Published by emeyers24 at 3:45 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

The Lakers managed to take advantage of poor play by Boston’s Big Three during Tuesday’s game 3 as they took thier first win of the series. While home court has been the big story of these NBA Playoffs, don’t count on a Staples Center sweep by Lakers. You heard it here first, the Celtics WILL win one game in downtown Los Angeles before heading back east for games 6 and 7. Deciding factor? The Crowd. Anyone who watched games 1 and 2 undoubtedly felt the impact that the crowd had. The fans were loud, spiteful of the Lakers, and probably did a better job pumping thier team up upon Paul Pierce’s return than coach Doc Rivers could ever do in a speech. Even when the Lakers were building leads, hitting shots and playing well you really didn’t hear the crowd get into it. I think the loudest those movie stars and high rollers ever got was when their precious Kobe got his first techinical foul of the series. Makes sense though, L.A. is all about drama, on the big screen, in the lives of those brats from The Hills, and it just doesn’t seem like well played basketball grabs thier attention. Maybe what this team needs is a new teammate rival for Kobe, bring back the days when he was bickering with Shaquille, that’ll get the crowd into it. Simply put, Los Angeles has forgotten about the true meaning of sports, which is why this is just the beginning of the city’s sports teams downhill slides.

The East Coast, however, holding it down this past year. We had an all east coast football Super Bowl, a non-Yankees pennant (thank God), and then the Red Wings… well I won’t try to claim an east coast Stanley Cup too, leave something for the Midwest.

My Prediction, Boston takes this series after the first game back in Boston, making this past year an east coast sweep for the big sports.
